UFC 102: Couture vs. NogueiraAntônio Rodrigo Nogueira won via unanimous decision against Randy Couture (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) in their Heavyweight match-up of UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira on August 29, 2009 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

Meanwhile on the co-main event, Thiago Silva won the Light Heavyweight bout when he knocked out Keith Jardine via at 1:35 mark of first round. Heavyweight Todd Duffee scored big time when he new record for fastest knockout in the UFC after knocking out Tim Hague at the 0:07 mark of the first round. The precious UFC record was at 8 seconds shared by Don Frye (over Thomas Ramirez at UFC 8 ) and James Irvin (over Houston Alexander at UFC Fight Night: Kenny Florian vs Joe Lauzon).

Preliminary card

  • Lightweight bout: Evan Dunham defeated Marcus Aurelio via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27).
  • Middleweight bout: Mark Muñoz defeated Nick Catone via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28).
  • Heavyweight bout: Todd Duffee Knocked Out Tim Hague via at 0:07 of the first round.
  • Heavyweight bout: Mike Russow defeated Justin McCully via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-26, 30-27).
  • Heavyweight bout: Gabriel Gonzaga defeated Chris Tuchscherer via Technical Knock Out (punches) at 2:27 of round number 1.
  • Middleweight bout: Aaron Simpson defeated Ed Herman via Technical Knock Out due to an injury at 0:17 of the second round.

Main card

  • Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. defeated Krzysztof Soszynski via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
  • Middleweight bout: Jake Rosholt defeated Chris Leben via arm triangle choke submission at 1:30 of round 3.
  • Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt Knocked Out Demian Maia at 0:21 of round 1.
  • Light Heavyweight bout: Thiago Silva Knocked Out Keith Jardine via at 1:35 of round 1.
  • Heavyweight bout: Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira defeated Randy Couture via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort is scheduled on September 19, 2009 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, previous to that, UFC Fight Night: Diaz vs. Guillard will be staged at Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 16, 2009.
